President and CEO
Lynn Dines, started the company in 1997. Lynn has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Northeastern Illinois University and a Master of Science Degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California (USC). Lynn currently has a Top Secret clearance. She began her career at Standard Oil Company in 1976 where she worked as a Product Analyst, responsible for production and quality work performed by technical publications and word processing personnel. Ms. Dines was also responsible for intra-departmental training.
After graduating from Northeastern Illinois, Lynn worked in a welfare to work program in Chicago’s inner city before moving with her family to Southern California where she started her career as a Government contractor working as a Project Manager at SAIC. She continued her career at Infotech Development Inc, where she was promoted to Program Manager for the NAWCWD Aerial and Surface Target’s Program contract providing a broad range of engineering, configuration, logistics, and management support to the Navy. She joined SRS Technologies as a Program Manager in 1992 and was later promoted to Directorate Head for Logistics Programs supporting NAWCWD at Point Mugu and China Lake. In 1997, Lynn left SRS to start SSI. Since that time, she has overseen the growth of the company from a start up operating with a single employee to a company with employees executing millions of dollars of contracts annually from locations throughout the United States..
Chief Financial Officer
Jim Reeder joined SSI in 2016 as CFO. Jim has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona and an MBA in Finance and Strategic Planning from the University of California at Berkley. He has served in numerous financial positions during his 35-year career starting as a Finance and Strategy Consultant for Atlantic Richfield Corporation. From 1986 to 1999, he served as Controller and later Regional Finance Director for Avery Dennison where he was responsible for five production and distribution facilities and over $250 million in revenue. Jim worked as CFO for Power Lift Corporation and served as Vice President of Finance and Principal Financial Officer for Special Devices Incorporated where he led financial evaluations and due diligence of potential acquisitions to complement organic growth and established a joint venture in Germany and a subsidiary in Thailand. Prior to joining SSI, Jim Served as Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller for Talon International where he led the design and implementation of Sarbanes Oxley projects and completed the conversion of all financial and operational systems. Since joining SSI, Jim has re-organized the Accounting Department and administrative staff functions to streamline operations and increase effectiveness. He has also overseen the transition from a legacy accounting system to a fully integrated system for accounting and project management.
Director of Contracts
Earnie Leonard joined SSI in 2005 as Director of Contracts. Earnie has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from California State University Fullerton. He began his Contracts career working as a Contracts Manager at Ford Aerospace where he administered as many as 50 contracts at any one time. He later worked at Sparta as a Senior Contract Administrator where he established a government-approved purchasing and property control system and at Litton Systems where he effectively interacted with legal counsel, finance, and marketing VPs to prepare business strategies. In 2000, Earnie joined Securities Industry Automation Corporation (SIAC) as a Senior Contracts Manager. There, he reported to the Office of General Counsel and was responsible for all aspects of contract management for the major disseminator of U.S. market data worldwide. Since joining SSI, Earnie has been responsible for all aspects of contract management and negotiation including both Government contracts and commercial contract activities. He interfaces with all government contract agencies, business partners, and operational management to ensure successful execution of all SSI contracts – overseeing compliance with all contract terms and conditions, including cost, schedule, and technical performance issues while also providing support for proposal activities.
Director of Business Development
Rodney Kendall joined SSI in 2017 as Director of Business Development. Rodney has over 40 years of experience supporting the Department of Defense, including 20 years active duty experience in the U.S. Navy. Rodney currently has a Top Secret clearance. He retired from the Navy in 1995 as a Chief Warrant Officer. While in the Navy, he received a Flag Officer appointment to the Tactical Training Group Pacific as C4ISR and Anti-Air Warfare Instructor. From 1996-2014, Rodney served as a Senior Systems Analyst, Director, Division Manager and Vice President at CACI where he provided guidance and management to over 100 Division employees and over 200 subcontractor/vendor employees on multiple programs and projects. He oversaw the successful implementation of CMMI Level 3 and ISO 9001:2008 processes and procedures and established a Project Management Organization for modernization of systems and equipment using EVMS practices. In 2014, Rodney started a Consulting business to provide business, operations, and technical management services, strategic advisory and business development services to clients as well as mentoring, advisory, and coaching for program and project managers. Since joining SSI, Rodney has worked with the Business Development Team to streamline and strengthen business capture processes and establish targets outside our traditional marketplace (e.g., focusing on Seaport NxG opportunities with NAVSEA and Air Force opportunities under OASIS) while working with our Program Managers to maximize the value of existing contracts.
Senior Operations Manager
Scott Roland joined SSI in 2017 as a Program Manager and advanced to the role of Senior Operations Manager. Scott has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management from Park University and is DAWIA Certified in Program Management and Life Cycle Logistics. Scott currently has a Top-Secret clearance. He served in the US Marine Corps (USMC) for 26 years – holding positions as a Squadron/MEU Ordnance Officer, Assistant Wing Ordnance Officer, Logistics and Readiness Officer, Fleet Weapons Liaison Officer, and Deputy Program Manager. He served as a member of the Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE) Air-Launched Weapons Team (ALWT) and the Weapons Readiness Working Group (WRWG) and participated in the Navy Munitions Requirements Process (NMRP) working groups with requirements and planning officers from OPNAV N411 / N98, COCOMS, Numbered Fleet, MEF and NAVAIR Program Offices. Prior to retirement he served as a Deputy Program Manager for PMA-242. He managed a $40M+ yearly weapons integration, procurement, and sustainment budget, executing contracts and managing risk. He also managed staffing goals and funding execution of a geographically dispersed acquisition team of 78 employees. Since joining SSI, Scott has taken over responsibility for overseeing multiple CPFF contracts supporting NAVAIR, NAWCWD, and the US Marine Corp. He supports Program Managers and IPTs with Echelon I/OPNAV requirements development, procurement strategies, and budgetary submissions regarding CNO guidance and budgetary requirements. SSI’s Program Manager for Logistics Support Services at China Lake (Mr. Steve Maxwell) reports to Scott and coordinates with him to provide cradle-to-grave support for weapons systems at various locations throughout the U.S.
Senior Operations Manager
Jeff Warren joined SSI in 2004 as a Logistics Engineer and has progressively advanced to the role of Program Manager and Senior Operations Manager. Jeff has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Physics from the University of Washington and is a PMP certified Program Manager. Jeff currently has a Secret clearance. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years as a Stationary Engineer prior to joining Kayoz Engineering in 1997 as a Project Manager/Engineer. At Kayoz, Jeff advised customers on logistics, engineering and programmatic services in facilities management, manufacturing, machinery implementation and installation as well as systems integration, reliability, maintainability, supportability, and safety. Jeff also worked as an Engineer at Novellus Systems and Technicolor prior to joining SSI in 2004. Since joining the company, Jeff has provided subject matter expertise, engineering, and strategic planning support to NAVAIR PMA-242 Precision Guided Munitions Program. He provided Test and Evaluation support for the TRIDENT (D5) and developed an Independent Logistics Assessment (ILA) Roadmap and Checklist for PEO(U&W) ACAT I-III programs. Jeff currently manages multiple Fixed Price and T&M Contracts providing a broad range of logistics, engineering, IT, and management services supporting SSI’s NAVFAC EXWC customers. As a Six Sigma Black Belt, Jeff has focused on building an efficient organization that capitalizes on the Fixed Price nature of his contracts to optimize value for both our customers and the company.
